Sniper Fury – A Gameplay Review & Mission Guide

Sniper Fury – A Gameplay Review & Mission Guide

Sniper Fury is an online first-person 3D shooting game that’s developed and published by known gaming company Gameloft SE. In this game, you play the role of a hitman, using his skills with a gun to take down various enemies. But this is not just a typical sniper game where you will be playing from a distance and shooting enemies down.

You can also opt to play at a closer distance, using an assault rifle instead to take down enemies. The game also offers various game modes for you to play in, including a PVP mode. This provides you with different options whenever you get stuck in the campaign mode or you are already bored with a certain game mode. But is Sniper Fury a good game to download and play? Find out in this review of the game.

What the Game Offers

As mentioned earlier, you will play the role of a hitman in this game, taking out a bunch of bad guys. You will get to use different weapons, depending on the type of mission you are working on. So don’t expect that you’ll just be using a sniper rifle. You work for a company called Cellstrike and they’re the ones who provide you with the missions that you need to complete. There will be a tutorial at the beginning, teaching you the basics of the game like how to zoom in, shoot enemies, and upgrade weapons.

Sniper Fury Main Menu

But typical of a sniper shooting game, you won’t be moving from your spot. You will just be stationed in one area, even if you’re using an assault rifle. So don’t expect you can dodge left or right when battling enemies. The game also offers a variety of game modes, which will be discussed further later. Let’s now talk about what’s good about this game.

What’s Good about Sniper Fury

Unlike most action shooting games, you won’t be moving around but focus on long-range kills. That may sound boring to some of the die-hard first-person shooter fans, but here are a few things that you may want to consider before completely writing it off:

Remarkable Graphics

Right off the bat, one of the things that you will notice about Sniper Fury is that it has remarkable graphics. The game’s environment is very detailed and sharp, it makes you feel like that you are part of the environment itself and you’re the one who’s doing the mission. Enemies are also sharp and clear, as well as the action scenes. You will enjoy playing this game and its awesome graphics.

Realistic Movements

Enemy movements are also realistic, especially when you hit them with the gun. Their reaction and movements from being hit are accurate. For example, you shot them on the left arm, they will recoil back in that direction and you even see them trying to cover the wound with their other hand. A headshot will result in the enemy falling back straight and a leg shot will result in them falling forward. It will make you feel like you just shot a real person, and combine with its awesome graphics, this makes for a great overall gameplay experience.

Different Game Modes

It’s also great that Sniper Fury offers different game modes, providing you with different options to play. But it is important to remember that different game modes will still follow the core game mechanics of the game and that is to shoot down enemies. You will just be doing it in different ways like in the Sniper mode where you only be using the sniper rifle or the Assault mode where you will only use an assault rifle.

Having different game mode is also good since it will allow you to earn more rewards in the process. You can use the rewards to upgrade your guns since certain levels will have minimum requirements that you need to meet before proceeding. Each mode in the game will cost energy, so you have to make sure that you have enough energy to be able to play. Let’s talk briefly about the different missions so you will have an understanding of them.

Sniper Fury Mission Guide

There is a whole lot of game packed into what may seem to be a boring long-range shooting title. There are a bunch of different game modes and missions for you to try ranging from single-player and even real-time person-versus-person gameplay.

Single Player

This is the mode where you will be playing most at the beginning. There will be the Story mode, where the game’s main story is played, the Sniper mode, and Assault Mode. There’s also the contract where you will just spend energy and the mission is played automatically and you just collect rewards. It’s important to remember that each mode will have a minimum requirement in terms of power, so make sure you upgrade your gun or use a new one.

Clan Wars

You will need to join a clan to participate in this game mode. This is just where your clan will battle against other clans and you will have various objectives to complete to win the war.

Base Attacking & Defending

This is another PVP mode where you will set up a squad and you will try to attack another player’s base and steal resources. Of course, you will also need to build a strong defense so they won’t be able to steal your resources as well.

Real-Time PVP

This is a PVP mode where you will battle against other players in real-time on a head-to-head match. It’s basically a way to test your skills and reaction time against another player’s speed and skills. It’s a great way to see how good you are.

Sniper Fury Special Events

Sniper Fury will also have various special events for you to participate in. These events are a great way to earn more rewards, so make sure to take advantage of them. Let’s now discuss what is bad about the game.

What’s Bad about Sniper Fury

Of course, there is no such thing as a perfect game and Sniper Fury does fall short in some areas. As a free-to-play action shooting game, those shortcomings can be pretty obvious:

Limited Energy

One of the things that’s bad about Sniper Fury is its limited energy. This is not new since most games would include this in their gameplay. To play the different game modes will cost energy, with the Story mode requiring 2 energy to play. You will only have 10 energies to spend, which means you can only play 5 Story mode missions before it needs a recharge. Other modes will require 1 energy, so you can play them 10 times.

Energy requires Constant refill

The issue here is that your energy will remain at 10. Unlike most games, where the energy limit tends to increase as your level increases, that doesn’t happen in Sniper Fury. You will only get 10 energy no matter what level you reach. Sure, you can always just wait a couple of hours before playing again, but that’s an issue if you’re someone who can only play the game at specific times of the day. And since missions and quests usually last only 1-2 minutes, you can expect to be finished playing after 5 to 10 minutes.

This is not great if you’re someone who would like to play as long as possible during your free time. You can refill the energy back, whenever you level up or by using Ruby, which is the main paid currency in the game.

In-App Purchases

Another issue with this game is that it seems to be focused more on in-app purchases than on providing you with a complete gameplay experience. In-app purchases are common in most games and it’s understandable since this is the only way developers can earn from their games. It becomes a problem, though, if the in-app purchases will be hindering you from playing the game properly. You will mostly feel this when it comes to collecting weapons.

Weapons are not free

The only weapon available for free will be the first weapon you will use. The rest will require you to either use the in-game cash or Rubies. The in-game cash can be earned via rewards, but it will require a serious grind on your part. Rubies can also be earned but it’s very minimal, even when you seriously grind. In short, you will need to spend money if you want to acquire most of the available guns.

This will also be an issue later on since certain levels on the Story mode will require certain guns, essentially forcing you to either pay up or be stuck playing other modes first.

Lacking Information on the Story

It’s also bad that you don’t get a lot of information about the game’s story. Yes, you are a hitman that works for Cellstrike. But other than that, you know little about the story. Is Cellstrike contracted by the government or other private sectors? What’s the purpose of those hits? You won’t be able to know all of these things in the game.

Final Thoughts on Sniper Fury

Sniper Fury is a good game that offers great graphics and amazing gameplay. However, there are some drawbacks to the game, mainly with its limited energy and focus on in-app purchases. It would have been great if there would be more focus on providing a great gameplay experience instead of just trying to milk as much money from players.

Overall, you can still download and play this game and have a great time doing so. But don’t expect you can invest heavily in this game since you will surely get stuck later on unless you are willing to spend some money.
