Of course, you can’t just take a personality test anytime you want. You will need to have enough EGOs first to take the tests. These are the game’s currency and you earn them by collecting whispers.

After that, the idle element of ALTER EGO will come in. At first, you will have to click on these whispers manually to collect them. Once you have enough, you can use the EGO to start reading books. Once you open a book, you start collecting EGOs automatically. You don’t need to tap anymore just to get EGOs. After collecting enough, you can start opening other books or taking personality tests you can afford with your collected EGOs. Once you’ve completed the test in ALTER EGO, the results are analyzed and an interpretation of an aspect of your personality being tested is given.

How to Play ALTER EGO

ALTER EGO is not that hard to play since it features idle gameplay. It can be confusing at first, but once you get certain aspects it’s smooth sailing from there. There will be a short guide, in the beginning, to help you navigate the confusing aspect of the game. There are four menus in the game, Inquiry, ES, Goals, and Records. The Inquiry is where you’ll see the whispers and books to read to gain EGOs. ES is where you will find the different personality tests available.

The other two just show your accomplishments and the tests you completed already or books read in ALTER EGO. Once you’ve started reading several books and you’ve opened several pages, you just need to be patient. You will automatically earn EGOs and you just wait until you have enough to take the tests. You can always retake the test if you’re not satisfied with the analysis. Though some of them can be accurate, just remember that the analysis given in ALTER EGO will not always reflect who you are.
