For some reason, everyone went nuts and suddenly started loving oil. Red is one such person. Unfortunately, his friends are not coming for his birthday. The solution? Stockpile oil so that everyone will come! Honestly, this plot will make you feel like some of your friends are only present when they have something to get from you

Dramatic story aside, the gameplay of Oil Hunt 2 is rather simple but has its own appealing mechanics. Throughout the game, you will travel across several areas of interest to collect oil. For each level, you have to collect a certain amount of oil. While this may sound simple, the process of extracting oil can be very challenging.

Oil wells are scattered throughout a level. Once you find one, the option to extract oil will pop up in the screen. This is where the toughest part of the game comes in. To extract oil, you have to tap and hold the icon. The metallic straw used to collect oil will extend upwards until you release the icon. The straw will then be dropped to the oil well. If the tip of the straw does not land on the oil well, then the game is over.

Surely, your heart will be crushed as you see Red frown in saddening frustration. Imagine that! An innocent monster will not be able to spend his birthday with his peers simply because you missed. All that being said, it all boils down to your ability to estimate the exact length you will need. There’s no pressure here, but Red’s birthday depends on your spatial skills. Don’t fail the cuddly monster!

The difficulty curve of the game scales as you progress. In the beginning, you will be sipping oil from huge pools underground. Later, these pools will come in various shape and sizes that will make it challenging to land the straw. Worse, one wrong move and all the oil you collected will be for nothing. In the end, Oil Hunt 2 is a roller coaster of fun, frustration, and overwhelming joy.

Graphics

If the amusing gameplay of Oil Hunt 2 – Birthday Party for PC is not enough to keep you coming back, then the graphics and sound effects probably will.

While undeniably designed for kids, the graphics of Oil Hunt 2 emanates a casual vibe. The cartoony feel and the character designs somehow remind me of Sesame Street and stricken me with a few sprinkles of nostalgia. This casual sense is amplified by the background music which fits perfectly with the themes of the levels.
