Like any other game out there, your first mission is to understand the basic structure or mechanics of the game. In the case of World of Tanks Blitz that would be the Garage. As indicated in the image above, the garage is your main go-to if you want to check stats, make purchases, chat with other players, and upgrade your tanks.
The Garage Explained
The garage page is populated with various details that may confuse new players. With that in mind, we created an overview of the five main elements that you should keep in mind when you’re in the garage. First is the PING which displays the quality of your connection. This is important since The World of Tanks Blitz is an online game.
Next is the CREW which indicates the health or the current status of your tank crew. The third is the Battle button which when clicked will direct you to the battle queue. The fourth is the upgrades that will help you with upgrading your tanks. The fifth is the TECH TREE which contains the details of each tank including their country of origin. The tech tree also displays the historical order of each tank.
The Battle Screen
Once you click the BATTLE button, the game will immediately redirect you to the battle queue which will eventually take you straight to the battlefield. Much like the garage, the battle screen has its own set of details (see image below) that you need to watch out for. Unlike the garage, you should be more mindful or alert when looking at the battle screen since it will only appear during live battles.
The Battle Screen Explained
There are 15 elements that you should be mindful of when looking at the Battle Screen. The first three elements are located at the topmost portion of the screen. The first detail is the team panel (Green) that highlights the number of tanks on your team. Next is the countdown timer which indicates the time left during a match. Then, the third is the enemy team panel (RED) that indicates the remaining tanks on the enemy team.
On the left side of the battle screen, you will see the vehicle symbols that indicate the type of tanks on the battlefield. On the right, you will see the Ammo selector (where you toggle ammo types) and consumables (where you can access health packs, repair kits, etc.). While at the bottom left, you will see the connection quality, the HP at the middle bottom, and the speed of your tank.
In the main interface, you will see the light bulb that lights up when you spot an enemy (an enemy indicator will also pop up when an enemy is within range), the aiming reticule (for aiming), the zoom represented by a binocular symbol, the fire/shoot button, and the directional pad.
World of Tanks Best Tank – Choosing a Tank
Choosing a tank in World of Tanks Blitz will make or break your game. You cannot simply choose a tank because of the aesthetics in this game. You need to choose a tank that will fit your gaming style. To help you with that, we explained the four classes of tanks below.
The Four Classes of Tanks
World of Tanks Blitz has a tank for every player out there. Just make sure to choose which class best fits your play style.
Light Tank Class
The first is the Light class which is made up of light tanks packed with speed and mobility. To compensate for their swiftness, light tanks come with light armor (which means they are vulnerable to attack) and less firepower which is this class is best only for scouting enemies.
Medium Tank Class
The Medium Tank class is what you consider as a balanced armored vehicle. The tanks that fall under this list are equipped with decent armor, firepower, and speed making them perfect for assault. Medium Tanks are highly recommended for beginners.
Heavy Tank Class
Next, the Heavy Tank class, as the name suggests, packs thick armor and awesome firepower. The only downside to these tanks is that they are low on speed which means switching between targets and position can be a pain. Nevertheless, if you are a defensive player, then this tank class is for you.
Tank Destroyer Class
The fourth class is the Tank Destroyer which, as the name suggests, is packed with firepower. These types of tanks can literally destroy a tank in a couple of hits. However, destroyers are weak when it comes to armor. But, if you are long-range or like to play as a sniper, then this tank class is for you.
Ammo Types
A tank without ammo is basically a moving armor or steel with no use, to say the least. This is why choosing the right ammo for each encounter is crucial to your victory. To help you understand the specifics of ammunition in World of Tanks Blitz, we explained the four main types of ammo below.
Ammo Types Explained
There are four main types of ammunition in World of Tanks Blitz. Having an overview of each of these ammo types will be beneficial when it comes to destroying your enemies. Each ammunition has its own effect on each tank type or armor.
The first ammunition is the standard Armor Piercing round which is effective on both normal and heavy armor (depending on your aim). Next is the Armor Piercing Composite Rigid which is specialized for heavy armor.
The third is the High Explosive Armor Piercing (APCR) round which detonates on impact but has the low armor-piercing capability. The fourth ammo is the High Explosive Anti-Tank round that uses heat to penetrate the armor. This type of ammunition will penetrate armor at any distance.
